Let's Face The Sun!

The Face The Sun Foundation was established by Dorice and Andy Lessard in 2005, after Dorice was diagnosed with breast cancer. The fund was created to assist those with cancer, and in active treatment. Monies raised through generous supporters are used to help others to create lasting memories. The fund will supply eligible patients (those who are currently in active treatment) with a memorable experience such as a short trip, a dinner, or an outing that the patient's family can enjoy to "get away" from the trying times facing them.

Face The Sun Fest 2008!

What a memorable Day.

Even A Hurricane couldn't stop us.

A note from Andy:

So we did it. We have successfully completed the event against the elements. Though there were some challenges, we had a great turn out and participation. Some statistics are; about 75 people attended, raised over $1200, 8 tables full of food and beverages consumed. Reported over 3 inches of rain fell in 5 hours time, wind gusts around 30mph, one tarp ripped from its mountings, 2 canvas heavy duty tents no problems, Kids played mud football, many stories shared and friends made for life. As I stated at the event, you are all heroes and rose above and beyond. I personally thank all of you for making that extra step and finding a way to face the sun through those clouds overhead. Want you to notice the rainbow we experienced when the rains stopped around 7pm.

Face The Sun must now move forward without it's co-founder. Dorice has been called to serve God at his side. She passed away March 9th 2007, in the presence of her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and above all, LOVE. All those blessed to have been touched by her cheerful and gentle nature will never forget her.
